Live From New York

Live from NY is the diggnation.
Had a great time at the even I will post pics from the even both here, and on my Flickr account. Brian Brushwood rocked the stage as well as he did outside the show. There where few issues that popped out before the show begun and Brian was there to cheer up and give little performance to people who at first were not able to get in. The problems that occurred were mostly caused by the venue not the Revision 3 crew. The bouncers would walk around telling everyone the venue is only 21 and up which caused unnecessary stress for the younger audience that stood in the line together with us. After finding out that there were people that did not get into the place and had to stand outside made a lot of people upset but there was Brian to the rescue. Moving aside all the negative things the show itself ROCKED. The energy of the crowd and everyone on the stage was outstanding and really thrilling. Jim Louderback did a great opener followed by outstanding performance from Brian Brushwood. Jay Adelson and Kevin Rose followed after Brian's performance and gave us little information as to what new things we can expect from digg.com. At that point the diggnation actually started brining us the usual outstanding performance from Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht. What made this show little bit different is that there was much more interaction with the crowd. Girls were coming up on the stage people were getting shout outs and the energy in the whole place rocked. Those are the things that I liked about the show but there are also things that just blew me away. While waiting on the extremely lengthy line to get into the club Aubrey Sabala and the crew from Ifanboy were walking around taking interviews and talking to people on the line which struck me as a great thing to do. I know getting free stuff is not what matters but Brian providing everyone with a copy of his book and with the amount of schwag that was given out no one left the show empty handed. Personally I did not get a chance to meet Kevin and Alex personally which was unfortunate but there is time for everything. But one person that I bumped into and really enjoyed having a small chat with was Jim Louderback who was a really awesome person to talk to and was interested in my opinion.
Overall the event had a little bumpy start because of the issues with the venue itself but those problems could not overcome how AWESOME was the entire show. But one thing that the show left me with is how good everyone from Revision 3 is with their fans and people overall. Rev3 crew seems to really understand that they exist because they have viewers and they care for them and are earnest. To me this really is important and is one of the reasons as of recently there is so much attention directed towards Revision 3. If Rev3 is going follow this same path and stay earnest to the people that take time out of their daily routines to sit down and watch their show they will continue to increase and gain momentum. This is all I have to say while the experience of the live show is still fresh in my head. I will post few photos from the show later on the week. I really want to thank everyone at Revision 3 for such a great show and the time I had at the venue.

Twitter is Down

There was update implemented on Twitter and as of Saturday I only get updates from certain people not all of the people I follow. It really unfortunate and little bit frustrating because there is some stuff that I missed. As of now they are fixing the problem we'll see how long fixing the bug will take hopefully not too long.

Right Exposure

I recently was looking through Web 2.0 start ups and the number of companies available to us blew my away. There are hundreds upon hundreds of start ups and many of them aren't as popular as Twitter or Pownce they barely catch peoples attention. Can we blame this problem on downward sliding economy, and hesitation of Venture Capitalist to invest or can we say its the companys poor advertisement. What makes start ups such as Digg.com and Twitter success and gain recognition? Is it mostly broken down to the user base or right exposure that makes those start ups stand out?

Can we blame ourselves for not supporting start ups or is it up to them to grasp our attention? To me it seems everything is broken down in to "who" is using these sites. Everyone knows what MySpace and Facebook are and how to use it, but what is ignored by the common user are site like Digg.com, Twitter, Pownce etc. Don't believe my check out Alana Taylor (
http://tinyurl.com/2oqv93) hit the streets of New York and prove that common users are ignoring such start ups. There is so much potential that is ignored not only for growth of the start ups but also better establishment of your personal brand. But instead of branching out people decide to use networks that are familiar to common users to spread the brand which to me is a mistake.

Start ups such as Twitter and Digg.com have users which are interactive with each other and willing to share opinions and advices. Those sites have a social network that is worth much more than it seems because of user integration. Many companies it seems still have not realize is that it does not matter how many users a web site has (I am more than sure that it helps) but what matters is as to what those users choose to do with those web sites. I don't want to ramble on how great Twitter is the thing is that Twitter is a perfect example to what I am trying to show. There are many more start ups like LinkedIn, and Delicious amongst many more but because of its simplicity Twitter is the best example.  Being only able to post 140 characters its not a lot (simply put its the maximum of a text message) but how people integrate it and use it is what makes it count. Its quick and easy but it also contains a lot of depth that is not seen at the surface.

There is so much opportunity that is missed because large companies only chase after things that are popular such as MySpace and Facebook. But the way we do business and gain recognition changes and people need to begin realizing that start ups such as Twitter and Digg.com are missed opportunities. Many people seen what Twitter is capable of during the SXSW conference (if not check out
http://tinyurl.com/4hvb7q ). Start ups like that no longer can be ignored because of what they are capable of and until large companies realize that they are loosing out big time. Until than shame on them.

New Start

Yesterday I had how should I say this umm.... "Revelation". I looked at at how currently my life is going including my family and friends and to tell you the honest truth I finally realized I am happy, Everything is starting to fold into place with school and my social life I am slowly getting image of how I want to lead my life and what my interests are. I have really close group of friends and together we are having a blast enjoy every second of our time and who can ask for more. I purchased this web site with and Idea of starting out a blog but with scarcity of time and maybe little fear of not knowing what to say I did not continue, which I admit was a huge mistake on my part. I am really interested in the tech community since I was first introduced to computers which was about 9 years ago.
Considering myself a late bloomer in the tech world I try to familiarize myself with everything that comes my way from social networking to Podcast and Videocasts. I am really blessed with the things I have now and also the people around me who help me out on daily basis I learn a lot from everyone and I am really thankful for that. I want to dedicate this blog to them because they complete the person that I am. I finally decide to start this anew from scratch mostly because of Gary Vaynerchuk and something he said on his video blog site (check out Garyvaynerchuk.com if you already haven't) which was that we need to "stop lying to ourselves" and not pretend that we are something else in order to just fit in or to sell our product. I fully agree with that and to some point fell guilty of that because there have been certain events in my life that I wasn't fully myself (many may agree with me on that because in the end we are only human) and reminiscing those events I wish that everyone could see the full me without me holding anything back. That really touched me to the point where I decided to make some changes and go all out, starting this blog back up is first one of my steps towards these changes.
I don't want to rant about myself all day because that is going to take ages, but I just wanted to provide little background information what I am about and put myself out there with all the cards on the table. This blog is going to be used for my to share with people what I am all about it would include topics about video games, social networking, tech industry, business and economics, books, movies, wine, etc... the list can go on. For the most part is going to what I am all about and things I enjoy.
I am an Econ. major in college and a lot of my post will focus some what on the business aspects of things but it is not going to be dry mambo jumbo because that is not what I am all about. I am a geek and a gamer like many of us and not a dry snob in a suit so don't worry. I also want to warn everyone who read this blog that my grammar is not the best in the world what can I say without making excuses I want everyone to know that I only know English for eight years and that is not nearly enough to master grammar. On the last not for this post I want to thank my family and my friends especially my Love Anna who will support me no matter what I do because she loves me and also I like to than Gary Vaynerchuk because his words really opened my eyes on what I want to do with my future. So everyone sincerely Thank You please leave comments and there is more to come from me so heads up there is a "Storm" coming soon but for now Good Night.
